Frog Time

The album features life-size glass and metal frog sculptures placed in everyday scenes, such as playing music, dancing, courting, working, and driving. Despite the rigid, fused materials, the figures convey humor, warmth, and a strong human presence, crafted with remarkable precision.
Two introductory texts add depth to the experience: one explores guided imagination and daydreaming, while the other reflects on childhood memories in the form of a letter to the artist’s father. Together, the album creates a layered experience that brings together sculpture, metaphor, and careful design, inviting viewers into a visual and emotional journey.

Emanuel Zohar is an Israeli glass artist working internationally, a graduate of glass art studies in San Francisco. His work combines traditional and contemporary furnace techniques, fusing, glass beads, and preservation, using diverse materials such as glass nuggets, copper, tin, and other metals. This allows exploration of light, color, and structure, positioning his creations between sculpture, craft, and decorative objects.
Zohar focuses on anthropomorphizing animals, blending humor with critical reflection on human-environment relationships. The Frog Series, a central part of his oeuvre, highlights endangered species and explores ecological fragility, conservation, and human responsibility. All works are original hand-made pieces, exhibited and sold worldwide, included in private, commercial, and public collections. His practice spans Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Chicago, and Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
