I wrote this book first and foremost for my family, in the belief that each generation has a responsibility to share its story with the next. It is also for the many friends in Israel and Germany who accompanied me on this journey, and for the descendants of Leipzig. Finally, it is intended as an invitation to anyone who wishes to explore their family history and discover their own story.
