The Enigma of Dissociation

About the Book

This book explores the complex phenomenon of dissociation—a condition in which aspects of the mind temporarily disconnect from conscious awareness—through an integrated lens of theory, research, and clinical practice. It explains what dissociation is, how it relates to trauma, and how to identify and understand dissociative conditions in children, adolescents, and adults.
The book features compelling real-life case studies that illuminate patients’ inner experiences and presents an integrative therapeutic framework drawing on psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), hypnosis, and other evidence-based approaches.
Written in clear, accessible language, the book is suitable for mental health professionals, clients, family members, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of dissociation, trauma, and their role in everyday life.
