Irwin Yitzhak Heimowitz was born on the Lower East Side of New York City in 1934. The influence of his family and environment are poignantly described in his book. When he was 14 1/2, his life was changed forever by joining Betar. He went on to become the head of Betar in North America while earning four academic degrees.

He practiced law in New York for nine years. As a result of the Six Day War, he came on Aliya in 1968 with his wife and infant son. Eight months later, he was admitted to the Israel Bar. He specializes in legal matters concerning Israel and the United States.

The book covers his involvement in many legal cases, his most famous client being Prime Minister Menachem Begin. It also describes his participation in Zionist and Israeli politics as President of AACI (Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel) and a member of Herut's Central Committee and World Executive.

"Memories" tells about his family, his wife Phyllis, their children and grand children and the difference they made in Israel.
